According to Singapore’s International Visitor Arrivals (IVA), top five international visitor accounted for 49 per cent of total are Indonesia (443K), Mainland China (337K), Australia (204K), India (170K) and Malaysia (146K) in 2019. In Q1/2020, it shown a 43.2 per cent year-on-year decline at 2.7 million.
Doctors has advised all overseas patients to postpone non-essential procedures and treatments at Singapore hospitals to limit the risk of exposure for all patients including families and friends. As a result, the number of fly in patient visiting the hospitals are lower.
Many patients still eager to fly to Singapore to seek medical treatment and continue with their regular visits during this uncertainty due to their trust in Singapore’s healthcare services and availability of alternative medical options in their home countries.
